High-Performance Revenue Metering

High-Performance Power Quality Monitoring

Advanced Memory, Communication, Control and RTU Functions

   Patented Accu-Measure Technology

Electro Industries developed and owns the patent rights to Accu-Measure Technology. Accu-Measure is a digital DSP based calculation technique utilizing high-speed and high-resolution data acquisition hardware to capture incoming Voltage and Current signals and calculate all power parameters. Using these algorithms, the monitor will attain accuracies rivaling most reference equipment. The biggest problem faced with this design is that most Utility companies do not posses equipment accurate enough to verify the full range of the meter.

Typical Accuracy at 0.01%

Extensive testing reveals that this unit's Watt/hr readings provide an astounding 0.01% typical accuracy. Moreover, the unit maintains a similar repeatability over many tests. The unit is specified at 0.04%-0.06% for Watt/hr readings. However, typical accuracy is much more precise.

High Performance at a Low Cost

This unit's design concept was to create a power meter that not only provided superior technology, but also relied on a low manufacturing and component cost. Our design team of engineers painfully met these criteria.

Using Accu-Measure technology, we are able to pass our savings for premier technology to our customers. The Nexus power monitor is competitively priced breaking down industry cost barriers. Using this power monitor often results in no additional cost to a customer. It is even competitive with our own existing metering technology!!!

Auto-Calibration with Temperature Compensation

1PPM Reference is the Heart of Auto-calibration

An important feature in the Nexus power monitor is the auto-calibration technique associated with the unit. The Nexus uses an internal reference accurate to 1PPM. Periodically, every 6 hours more specifically, the Nexus will switch to the reference and recalibrate all internal circuitry. In this manner, we are assured that the unit always maintains its accuracy. A calibration takes less than 6 cycles to perform. Calibration is conducted on all channels simultaneously.

Temperature Deviation has no Effect on Accuracy

Temperature is another major factor affecting accuracy. In addition to periodic calibration, the unit will also fine-tune itself by auto-calibrating on every temperature change of more than 1.5 degrees Celsius.

On-board Time of Use Recording

TOU at No Additional Cost

The unit offers onboard TOU recording stored internally in the Nexus' onboard memory. Most vendors charge additional for TOU monitoring capability. With Nexus, it's in there. It even ships in the basic module with no trending memory.

Advanced TOU Implementation

The Nexus has one of the most advanced implementations of TOU available. The following features are included:

  • 20 Year Calendar
  • 8 Tariff Registers (On-Peak, Off-Peak, Shoulder Peak…)
  • 4 Seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall)
  • Sliding and Fixed Window Averaging
  • Variable Monthly Billing Dates
  • 16 Programmable Billing Schedules
  • Unlimited Calendar Assignments
  • Automatic Daylight Savings Time Consideration
  • Multiple Accumulations
  • Current Month
  • Current Season
  • Prior Month
  • Prior Season
  • Total Accumulation to date

Load Aggregation or Universal Metering

Load Aggregation

The unit provides 8 status inputs that can be used to count pulses. These pulses can have values and labels assigned to them for storage. Using these pulses, the user can aggregate or net multiple loads from other metering devices with or without the Nexus. The unit also calculates max demand for each of these pulses.

Universal Metering

The unit's pulse counting capability can also be used for universal metering. For instance the Nexus can be used to count Gas, Water, Steam or any other measured value. Aggregating and netting capabilities also apply. The unit will calculate max demand for each of these parameters as well.

Transformer Loss Compensation

Transformer Loss Compensate for Both Watts and VARs

The Nexus monitor allows you to compensate for Watts and VARs with both Ferris and Copper losses. Additionally, the unit allows you to add to or subtract from the values depending on the use of the meter. As with TOU, this feature is available at no extra charge.
