History of EIG
Founded in 1975 by engineer and inventor Samuel Kagan, Electro Industries/GaugeTech changed the face of power monitoring with an affordable, easy-to-use AC power meter. Sam believed this industry needed a solid state meter that could communicate data, providing engineers with the ability to make power management decisions. He proceeded to turn that vision into an industry reality.
An ISO 9001:2015 certified company, EIG sets the industry standard for advanced power quality and reporting, revenue metering, and substation data acquisition and control. EIG’s products are found on-site at virtually all of today’s leading manufacturers, industrial giants, and utilities.
Over the last 45+ years, we have grown, in size and capability, through our dedication to excellence, responsiveness to customers’ needs, and pursuit of innovation. We are still an independent company that manufactures our meters in the United States.

Giving back to the Community at EIG
EIG Clothing Drive
Electro Industries/GaugeTech participates each year in an annual clothing drive as a way to give back to our community. Last year, EIG partnered with Vietnam Veterans of America, resulting in hundreds of pieces of clothing donated.
EIG Food Drive
Electro Industries/GaugeTech participates in an annual food drive through Long Island Cares and the Harry Chapin Food Bank. Collections of canned and non-perishable foods are given to hungry individuals and families on Long Island as a way to provide them with a decent meal. Each year we support over 600 Food Pantries, Soup Kitchens, Shelters, Child Nutrition Programs & Veteran’s Service Programs.
Lindenhurst High-School Robotics Clubs
EIG strives to be a supportive member of the Long Island community, both in terms of employment and of community outreach and development. We are particularly interested in the fostering of engineering and other scientific skills in our young people. As such, we were happy to sponsor the Lindenhurst High School’s Robotics club, the PSIcotics. This club nurtures and promotes the scientific and engineering skills of its student members.
