Field Application Engineer

Electro Industries, the leader in power monitoring and smart grid solutions is looking for an experienced Field Application Engineer to join our Engineering Support Team.

We take pride in the support we offer with our products and that support continually brings customers back to EIG. In this position you will work directly with customers providing technical assistance on the installation and operation of our products and software. We are currently offering positions in the vicinities of Richmond, VA area, San Francisco Bay area and Corporate headquarters in Westbury, Long Island.

Duties:

  • Provide technical assistance and support to company engineers and equipment end users in the quick and efficient startup of newly installed equipment. Also training of site personnel in the operation and maintenance and repair of the equipment
  • Write technical reports, bulletins, FAQs, troubleshooting and programming guidelines and procedures
  • Plan and modify products to meet customer needs
  • Set up and debug the company’s SCADA system at client sites
  • Develop action plans for open support cases and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Be responsible for the commissioning of both power metering products as well as entire industrial systems

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering or related field of study
  • Knowledge of SCADA programming is required
  • This position requires approximately 20% to 50% of primarily domestic travel to client sites

Junior Field Application Engineer - Westbury, LI

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in power systems, industry practices, and system protection, protective relays and their applications, settings, and testing.
  • Demonstrated experience in software, integration and automation, industrial controls, PLCs, industry protocols (IEC-61850, DNP, Modbus), Ethernet systems, protocol analyzers, and industry SCADA practices.
  • Strong technical training, excellent communication both written and verbal, and above expectation customer service skills.
  • Strong programming skill in C, C++ and Java.
  • Ability to direct daily work activities with limited supervision.
  • Good understanding of industry standard communication protocols with an emphasis on Modbus, IEC 61850,DNP and BACnet.
  • Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware.
  • Knowledgeable in computer programming languages (Visual Basic, C/C++, Java, etc.), databases (SQL), and HTML development.

Electronic Technician

Duties:

  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair analog and digital electronic circuits, assemblies, products, parts and equipment down to component level using measuring and diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes and multi-meters.
  • Read electrical schematics and diagrams and technical documents.
  • Ensures systems and components meet established specifications.

Hardware Design Engineer

Electro Industries, the leader in power monitoring and smart grid solutions, is looking for a Hardware Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. This position is located at our Corporate office in Westbury, NY.

Duties:

Responsible for the integrity of company data, which is entered by a number of CRM users.

  • Create design requirements specifications from product features, illustrated with high and detailed level block diagrams.
  • Requirements include electrical, mechanical, environmental and standards compliance details.
  • Design Analog and Digital or mixed mode circuits with schematic capture and board layout software.
  • Optimize design for manufacturing process.
  • Make bills of materials and assembly drawings for production.

We are currently seeking a Sales Engineer to cover the Northwest Territory. Ideal location would be in the Seattle, WA vicinity.

Automation Test Engineer

Duties:

  • Lead a team of technicians to design and build test automation equipment including hardware and software functionality for PCB and electrical power monitoring equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, strong circuit debugging skills.
  • Experience with lab equipment such as a multi-meter, oscilloscopes, function generators and logic analyzers.

Compliance Engineer

Duties:

  • Manage compliance issues for commercialized products and under development
  • Responsible to drive product safety compliance and certifications
  • Responsible to submit, maintain and update regulatory paperwork as needed to insure all product standard are tested and current.
  • Responsible to test, debug and/or collaborate with design engineers to improve product to pass requirements
  • Research, develop and serve on committees to insure that products will be future developed standards

Duties:

  • Develop embedded programs and firmware
  • Support existing firmware, fix bugs and add new features.
  • Interface with hardware design and development, and review code design.
  • Support customer service with firmware issues.
  • Create and maintain internal firmware documentation.
  • Review and support software manuals created by technical writers.

Skills/Qualifications:
