Westbury, NY (Tuesday, July 28, 2020) – Electro Industries/GaugeTech (EIG) announces that its Shark® 200 data logging power meter has been certified for residential submetering by New York State. New York State law has established the process by which meters used by utilities and non-utility meter service providers to measure and bill for electricity usage must be approved for residential use. To receive approval, the electrical meter must be shown to meet the accuracy requirements for ANSI C12.1 and ANSI C12.20 certification and the regulations of the state Public Service commission, including National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceability of measurements and in-service tests. The Shark® 200 meter was approved after testing certified that it meets all the requirements of the commission, including the NIST traceability and the ANSI C12.20 0.2 Accuracy Class requirement.

In addition to its high accuracy measurements, the Shark® 200 meter offers extensive data logging and field expandable I/O options and communication capabilities, including DNP3 and Modbus TCP/IP over Ethernet and optional IEC 61850 support for utility automation systems.
