Westbury, NY (Thursday, June 28, 2013) – Electro Industries/GaugeTech (EIG) announces that it has received ISO 14001:2004 certification for its design and manufacture of electronic digital measuring equipment. The certifying agency for this approval was QAS International.
ISO 14001 is a set of standards developed to help companies reduce any negative impact they might have on the environment as a result of their work processes. ISO 14001 contains guidelines to help organizations set up an Environmental Management System (EMS) and to build on systems already in place. In order to obtain this certification, an organization needs to show that its EMS complies with the rigorous standards set out in ISO 14001.
EIG’s receipt of this certification acknowledges the fact that EIG is as committed to acting responsibly in the area of its environmental impact as it is in all other areas of its business dealings: such as meeting customer’s needs, ensuring employee safety and job satisfaction, reaching out in a supportive fashion to the local community, and ensuring that its products meet EIG’s standards for excellence in design and production.
