Current Transformers

EIG stocks multiple types of current transformers for metering applications.

  • Solid core CTs to use in revenue grade applications. Solid core current transformers have a core that is sealed to preserve the accuracy of the CT by protecting it from debris. For solid core current transformers, you must disconnect the conductor before installation.
  • Split core CTs have a hinge that enables installation without power interruption or the need to disconnect wires. Split core current transformers are ideal for retrofit and metering applications that are semi-permanent.
  • mV CTs are ideal for submetering and small load applications. They are compact enough to fit inside panel boxes and small enclosures while achieving ANSI accuracy and linearity.
